FAQ

Questions and answers

Installing, updating, a beginner guide, your account and everything else people ask.

Is the game really free?
Yes. There are no real-money purchases. All coins, gear and cosmetics are earned in the game.
How do I install the APK?
  1. Tap Download for Android. If Chrome warns the file might be harmful, tap Download anyway. That warning appears for every app that doesn't come from Google Play.
  2. Open the file from the notification or your Downloads folder.
  3. If your phone asks, allow installs from this source (Chrome or your file manager), then go back.
  4. Tap Install, then Open.
How do I update?
Since 2.2.1 only the latest version can play. In the app: when a new version is out you get an Update required screen with a DOWNLOAD button. Download the new file and install it over the existing app, without uninstalling. In the browser: the page reloads by itself and gets the new version. Your account and gear live on the server and are never lost.
Why must I update?
Because everyone must play by the same rules. An old version does not know the new buttons, stores and formulas, and can cause bugs, broken trades or an unfair edge. So the server accepts only the latest version. If an old app shows UPDATE REQUIRED on the login screen, download the new version from the Download for Android button on this site and install it over the old one. In the browser, just refresh the page.
Which phones does it run on?
Android 7 and newer. The game is light and runs well on modest phones too.
Is there an iPhone or PC version?
There's no iPhone app, but you can play right in the browser at /play, on iPhone and on PC. On a computer you play with keyboard and mouse. It's the same account everywhere.
How do I play in a phone browser?
The game is played in landscape, full screen. Hold your phone sideways: if it is upright you get a Rotate your phone screen. Your first tap goes full screen and locks the screen to landscape. Left full screen? Just tap the screen again. On iPhone Safari does not always allow full screen, so you can add the page to your home screen (Share > Add to Home Screen). On PC there is a ⛶ full-screen button at the top, and in Settings > Graphics. In the Android app the game is always landscape.
How do I sign up?
Right here on the site: press Sign up / Log in at the top, or in the game tap REGISTER on the login screen. Pick a username (3-16 letters), an e-mail and a password (at least 6 characters, twice), and you are in. The account is free, and your heroes, items and coins live on the server: the same account on the site, in the app, in the browser and on PC.
Can I log in on the site and play right away?
Yes. Log in at Sign up / Log in and press PLAY NOW: the browser game opens already logged in, no typing again. It works the other way too: logged in to the browser game means logged in on the site. Logging out on the site or in the game logs out both. Your password never goes in a link, and the session is kept in a secure cookie only the server can read.
What does "Remember me" do?
When it is checked (the default), your username is saved on this device and filled in next time, and you stay logged in for up to 30 days without playing. Your password is never saved. On a shared computer, uncheck it: the name is not saved, and the session ends after 12 hours without playing (or when you close the browser, on the site).
Why is there no guest play anymore?
Since 2.2.2 you play with an account only. Guest accounts got lost when you deleted the app or changed phones, and opened the door to fake accounts in the market and trading. Played as a guest? Nothing is deleted: the next time you log in you get a Create your account screen. Pick a username, an e-mail and a password, and that same account is saved with all your heroes, levels, items and coins.
Why confirm my e-mail?
Your e-mail is used for password recovery and protects the market and trading from fake accounts. E-mail confirmation is not on yet, it is coming soon. Once it is on, we send a 6-digit code to the e-mail you registered with: type it on the Confirm your e-mail screen in the game (or here on the site) and keep playing. Did not get it? Check the spam folder, tap Resend code, or fix the address with Change e-mail.
I forgot my password
Go to My account, tap Forgot password and get a code at the e-mail you registered with.
How do I start? (beginner guide)
  1. Sign up (or log in), pick a server (Sword or Shield) and create a hero on the hero select screen.
  2. You start in Crown City with 30 small healing potions and 20 mana potions. Visit the Potion Shop if you need more (20 gold each).
  3. Leave through the south gate to Valley Fields. The Barrel Goblin camps, the weakest ones, are right by the entrance.
  4. Fight one camp at a time, and drink a potion (key 1 or the button) when your HP drops under half.
  5. Every level gives you 5 stat points. Open the stats window (C or the button) and spend them, for example on Vitality to survive longer.
  6. Walk over gold and loot to pick it up. Head back to town on foot or with a Town Portal Scroll (key 4), sell to the Merchant and buy gear at the Weaponsmith.
  7. At level 40 move on to Shadow Forest, then the Fire Mines and the Kingdom Ruins.
The full guide: Beginner guide. The game also has a one-minute guided tour (Settings → Interface).
What is new in 2.2?
  • New bottom HUD: a red life orb on the left, a blue mana orb on the right, SD and AG gauges and a stone-and-gold bar with the XP strip, skills, potions and buttons.
  • Two new hunting maps: Goblin Coast (Lv 20-60) and Mistwood Marsh (Lv 70-130).
  • Class skills: 3 books per class at the Scholar, and a fourth skill that only comes on dropped weapons.
  • Bosses: each boss sits just above the strongest monsters of its map, up to 20,000 HP.
  • Fair fights by level: a monster above your level takes more hits and hits harder.
  • Monsters no longer heal or run away in the middle of a fight.
  • A Settings window, a loading screen for every map, a new connecting screen, and a connection that stays open while you stand still.
  • City shops sell only the starter sets.
  • New art from the free LPC library (credits on the Credits page).
What is new in 2.2.6?
  • Party of up to 5 heroes with shared XP and a bonus.
  • Multi-select selling in the bag.
  • Stronger skills: a skill is worth about 2 to 4 basic hits, and all three Throwing Axes now land together.
  • Level-based loot: the higher your level, the higher the grade that drops.
  • Bosses every hour on all maps and servers, with real gear loot. A boss far below your level gives little XP.
  • Quests in Hebrew, a guided tour for beginners and a class guide on hero creation.
  • Live Top 10 on the site: see the rankings.
How does a party work?
  • Tap another hero → INVITE TO PARTY. They get a confirm window. Up to 5 heroes per party; whoever invites is the leader.
  • Kill XP is split between the members near you, by each one's level, with a bonus of 5% for two up to 20% for five. A member far away gets no share.
  • Daily and weekly quest kills are shared too.
  • Members show under your health plate with their HP and map. /p text in chat = party message.
  • The leader can kick a member; anyone can leave. A member offline for more than two minutes drops out.
How do I sell many items at once?
  1. Open the bag at the Merchant and press SELECT TO SELL.
  2. Tap items, or press Grade 0-1, Grade 0-3 or All.
  3. Press SELL and confirm. If you picked valuable items (Excellent, Ancient or upgraded), the window warns you.
Worn items, the vault and market listings are never sold. An item's window also has SELL ALL LIKE THIS.
How do I get into the Top 10?
The rankings page shows the 10 strongest heroes and 10 strongest clans, refreshed every minute. Each account appears once, with its strongest hero. Power comes from your level, your stat points and the gear you wear (grade, +, Excellent and Ancient).
What do the city shops sell?
Only the starter sets (grades 0-1) and potions. Higher sets, wings, jewellery, relics and jewels are not sold in any shop: you get them only as drops from monsters and bosses or from the Chaos Machine. That keeps items (and the player market) worth something.
How does level affect combat?
  • A monster of your level falls in about 9 to 12 hits with good gear.
  • Every level the monster is above you takes about 3.5% off your damage and adds about 3% to its damage. A monster 20 levels above you is a long, dangerous fight.
  • New in 2.2.4: every level you are above the monster takes 4% off its damage (down to 15% at most), and your armour counts more. A level-6 monster barely scratches a level-20 hero.
  • Monster damage now rises smoothly from level to level on every map: up to level 30 they hit softer, from level 55 at full strength. Bosses are unchanged.
How many monsters attack at once, and how do I get HP back?
  • Like MU: a monster only wakes up when you come close (about 3 tiles), and at most 3 monsters join a fight against you on their own. The rest wait unless you hit them.
  • Since 2.2.4: every map has about a quarter fewer monsters, and the roads between the camps and to the gates are clear. A monster gives up when it gets about 6 tiles from its spot, or after about 6 seconds without landing a hit on you. Then it walks home and heals to full. Normal monsters are always slower than you.
  • After you enter a map, teleport or come back to life you have 3 seconds of protection: monsters do not attack. It ends as soon as you attack.
  • Every monster you kill gives back 2.5% of your max HP. Out of combat (6 seconds without hits) HP comes back slowly, 0.8% per second on hunting maps and 10% per second in the city. Mana comes back at 2.5% per second in combat and 4% out of combat.
Where are the bosses and how strong are they?
Every hunting map has a boss in its lair: Old Grizzly in Spring Meadow (Lv 16, 1,500 HP), the Elder Tree Ent in Autumn Orchard (26, 2,400), the Goblin King in the valley (38, 3,000), Captain Barrelbeard on the coast (58, 5,000), the Shadow Warlord in the forest (92, 8,000), the Bog Witch (124, 12,000), the Dynamite Baron in the mines (176, 16,000) and the Fallen King in the ruins (285, 20,000). Whoever did the most damage gets the best loot. From the Forest boss up, bosses are also the only source of Ancient pieces.
How often does a boss come back?
  • Since 2.2.6 every boss comes back 1 hour after it dies, on every map and on both servers.
  • While the boss is gone, the lair shows respawns in with a countdown, and the time also shows under the skull on the minimap.
  • The world map (MAP or M) lists every boss: is up when it is alive, or how long until it comes back.
  • A few minutes before a boss appears, the whole server gets a message.
  • Each server (Sword and Shield) has its own bosses.
How does target lock work?
  • Like MU: when you press attack (the sword button on a phone, Space or a mouse click on PC) or any skill, your hero locks onto the nearest monster in range, turns to it and fires at it, even when facing the other way.
  • The locked monster gets a red ring under it and an arrow above it.
  • The lock stays until the monster dies or leaves the range. Then the next press locks the next nearest monster.
  • To pick a target yourself, tap it on a phone or click it with the mouse.
  • The lock is for monsters only. On a player it works only in a duel.
  • Arrows, orbs and ground skills hit the locked target too, and the server checks every hit.
How do the daily and weekly quests work?
  • Every day you get 5 daily quests: 2 easy, 2 medium and 1 hard. They come from a big list: kill monsters on a certain map, fight a boss, pick up drops, upgrade at the Blacksmith, buy or sell at the Market, hunt with the Helper (AUTO), win a duel, play for some minutes and more.
  • Rewards are XP, gold, potions and jewels, and they grow with your hero level. The hard quest also gives a Jewel of Bless.
  • Finish all 5 and you get a bonus chest with jewels and potions.
  • There are also 3 weekly quests, bigger, with a jewel reward.
  • Daily quests change at midnight (Israel time), weekly quests on Sunday at midnight.
  • Open the window from the quest tracker on the side of the screen or the Quest Board in the city, and tap CLAIM to get the reward.
What does the Fairy by the gate do?
  • A Fairy stands by the south gate of Crown City, like the Elf Soldier in MU.
  • Walk up to her and tap RECEIVE BLESSING to get +15% damage and +15% defence for 30 minutes, free.
  • You can renew it any time.
  • The blessing is only for heroes up to level 100.
  • A fairy badge with the time left shows next to your name at the top.
How do I found a guild?
  • Go to the Guild Master beside the Clan Hall in the north of Crown City (the red banner).

How do I invite a player to my clan?
  • Tap a player in the world (click on PC) and pick INVITE TO CLAN in the menu, next to TRADE.
  • The button is only there for the clan leader and officers, and only when the player has no clan yet. The server checks this on every invite.
  • The player gets a popup with JOIN CLAN or DECLINE. The invite also stays in the Clan Hall.
How do I know which slot an item goes in?
  • In the Armory, every empty slot shows a silhouette of its item type: one-hand weapon, two-hand weapon or bow, shield, helmet, armor, gloves, pants, boots, necklace, ring and wings, with a small name under it.
  • When you pick an item from the bag, the slots it fits light up in yellow. On PC you can also drag an item onto a lit slot.
How does chat work?
Press CHAT (or T on PC) and type. Your message shows in a bubble over your hero for everyone on the same map, in the city and on hunting maps, and it is kept in the log (LOG or H) with the last 150 lines. There is an emote wheel too. Change the chat size in Settings → Interface.
What is new in 2.2.1?

  • Fast levels up to 150, slower after that.

What is new in 2.2.9?
  • New monsters and bosses: all 64 monsters and the 8 bosses are redrawn, with animations in four directions.
  • Heroes keep their familiar look: your armour set changes the look by tier, your weapon shows in your hand, and the upgrade and Excellent glow stays.
  • New wings that flap all the time, and new skill effects.
  • Sharpness: clean pixels on sharp screens. If a phone can't keep up the frame rate, the sharpness steps down a little by itself.
  • Required app update: download 2.2.9 and install it over the current app. Your account and heroes stay. In the browser the page updates by itself.

  • Piercing Arrows (passive, level 40 · 35 Energy): your basic arrows may go through every enemy in their path.
  • Greater Damage (key 6, level 50 · 40 Energy) and Greater Defense (key 7, level 70 · 55 Energy): for you and your nearby party, for one minute.
  • The potion seller sells arrow bundles (Bronze, Steel, Elven): one bundle = 20 basic shots and gives the archer extra damage. Without arrows the archer shoots as before.

  1. The Helper is open to every hero from level 1 (free up to level 20). It works on hunting maps only, not in Crown City, and only while you are online.
  2. Stand near a monster camp and press Z or tap AUTO (on the phone). Your hero hunts by itself inside the circle around the spot where you turned it on.
  3. Tap HELPER for the settings: hunt radius, return to the start point, skills or basic attacks only, and which skills (Q, R, E at a number of monsters, F below an HP %), healing and mana potions below the % you pick, and what to pick up (all items, Excellent and Ancient, jewels and fruit, zen, potions, or item names). Settings are saved per hero.
  4. An AUTO tag shows over your hero for everyone to see. The top of the screen shows the running time, kills and time to the next fee (if there is one). Tap that chip to stop.
  5. Move yourself and the Helper stops. If you pick "pause, then resume" in the settings, it hunts again around the new spot a second and a half after you stop.
  6. In the safe zone by the gates the Helper waits, in a duel it is off, and next to a live boss it stops: it never fights bosses.
  7. Press Z again and it turns off and shows a summary: kills, XP, gold and items.
What does the Helper cost and when does it stop?
The Helper charges gold when you turn it on and then every 10 minutes, by hero level: 36 gold at level 20, 84 at 40, 300 at 100, 756 at 180 and 1,800 at 300. It stops when the gold runs out, the bag is full, your hero dies, you leave the map, or the healing potions run out. If that option is ticked and you carry a Town Portal Scroll, your hero reads it and goes back to Crown City. Hunting while you are offline comes in a later update.
How do potions work?
Healing and mana potions restore 10%, 20% or 35% over one second (small from level 1, normal from level 40, large from level 120). Keys: 1 HP, 2 mana, 3 antidote, 4 Town Portal Scroll, with a 1-second cooldown between potions. The scroll takes 3 seconds and a hit cancels it. Up to 250 per stack.

Yes. Since 1.7.1 the weapon you hold shows on your hero in its real shape (axe, hammer, spear, bow, staff and more) and moves with the hand in every animation. Everyone sees it, including the upgrade glow and the Excellent glow, and your armour shows its shine too.
How do I change sound, music or language?
Since 2.2 it is all in the ⚙ Settings window (the SETTINGS button in the game, or Esc on PC): Sound (separate effects and music volume), Language (Hebrew or English, the whole game is translated), Graphics (low effects, safe mode, names, damage numbers, FPS limit), Controls (joystick size and opacity), Interface (minimap, chat size, auto-pickup) and Account (change hero, log out, server, credits).
Can I lose an item at the forge?
No. Items are never destroyed. Up to +6 an upgrade always works. After that a failure resets the item to +0, unless you ticked a Charm of Protection, then it drops only one level. All the details are on the forge page.
What is the Chaos Machine?
An item at +9 or higher is upgraded only in the Chaos Machine at the forge: a Jewel of Bless, Soul and Creation plus gold on every try, 50% for +10 down to 25% for +15. From hero level 180 you can also craft wings in it from feathers and a Boss Crest. More about the Chaos Machine.
How do skill books work?
Buy a book from the Scholar in Crown City and learn one of your hero's skills from it. The skill's power goes up a step every 20 levels, or every 25 Energy above 15, up to step 5. Level 20 already gives step 2, and level 75 with 40 Energy reaches step 5. The Scholar shows when the next step comes.
How do I delete my account?
In the game: Profile → Delete my account, type DELETE and confirm with your password. You can also ask by e-mail. All the details and the privacy policy.
The game froze after I rotated the phone or switched apps. What do I do?
  • Since 2.2.5 this is handled for you: when you come back, the game fits itself to the screen, reconnects to the server if the connection dropped, and brings the sound back.
  • If the game stops drawing for a few seconds, it wakes up on its own. If that does not help, it reloads and puts you back on the same map and spot (up to 15 minutes).
  • In a phone browser you will see "Tap to go back to full screen" after you return, because the browser leaves full screen when you switch apps.
The game stutters on my phone. What can I do?
  • Since 2.2.5 the game runs smoother: new monsters and players no longer freeze the screen when they appear, things off screen are not drawn, and players and monsters move smoothly even on a shaky connection.
  • Auto quality: if your phone cannot keep up the frame rate, the game lowers the sharpness a little, and heavy effects too if needed. This happens on its own.
  • You can also set Quality to "Low" in Settings or cap the game at 30 frames per second. That saves battery.
I found a bug. Where do I report it?
Message TALORD on TikTok, YouTube or Kick. A screenshot and a short description of what happened help a lot.
