From +0 to +15, and the Chaos Machine
Every enhancement level raises all of the item's stats. Up to +6 it always works. After that every failure sends the item back to +0, and from +10 you upgrade only in the Chaos Machine. The item itself never breaks.
Five rules you need to know
- +1 to +6 always works. One Jewel of Bless per step, no risk at all.
- +6 to +7 takes two Jewels of Soul at 60%. +7 to +9 cost one Jewel of Soul at 50%. A Lucky item gets +25% more.
- From +10, only the Chaos Machine. A Jewel of Bless, Soul and Creation plus gold on every try. The odds drop from 50% to 25%.
- From +6 up, a failure resets to +0. With a Charm of Protection (a boss drop) you lose only one level.
- Items are never destroyed. Excellent options, Luck and Ancient stay forever, even after a failure.

Three stones. Every one is hard to get.

Jewel of Bless
For +0 to +6, and every Chaos Machine try. Drops only from monsters and bosses, and can be bought from players on the Market.

Jewel of Soul
For +6 to +9, and every Chaos Machine try. Drops only from monsters and bosses, and can be bought from players on the Market.

Jewel of Creation
Only for the Chaos Machine: +10 to +15, and wings. Drops only from monsters and bosses, and can be bought from players on the Market.
Where else stones drop
- Monsters: a rare chance on every kill, better the stronger the monster. Jewels of Soul drop from level 40, Jewels of Creation from level 100.
- The Market: buy jewels from other players. No NPC sells them.
- Map bosses: every boss drops at least one jewel, guaranteed.

From +10 to +15, and wings
- At the forge, an item at +9 or higher switches to Chaos Machine mode by itself. Every try burns a Jewel of Bless, Soul and Creation plus gold.
- The odds: 50% for +10, then 45%, 40%, 35%, 30% and 25% for +15. A failure resets to +0.
- Charm of Protection: tick the box before the try. If it fails, the item drops only one level and the charm is used up. It drops from map bosses (about one in eight).
- Wings from hero level 180: Wings of Dawn. 3 Feather of Ignis, 1 Crest of Chaos, 1 Jewel of Creation and 150,000 gold, 60% chance. Wings are a new gear slot, and they show on your hero.
- Feathers drop in the Mines and the Ruins from level 150 and from their bosses. The Boss Crest drops only from bosses.

12 wings, only from the Chaos Machine
Wings are crafted only in the Chaos Machine at the forge. They never drop from monsters or bosses, no shop sells them, and no chest, quest or reward gives them. Wings someone already crafted can change hands through the market, a trade or a personal store.

Where the materials drop
- Feather of Ignis: monsters of level 150+ in the Fire Mines and the Kingdom Ruins (very rare), and the Fire Mines and Kingdom Ruins bosses: 60% per kill.
- Crest of Chaos: the Fire Mines and Kingdom Ruins bosses: 35% per kill.
- Jewel of Creation: a rare drop from monsters of level 100+ and from the higher map bosses.
- All materials stack in your bag like jewels, and you can buy and sell them on the market.
How to craft wings, step by step
- Reach the hero level of the wings (see the table). The level is checked on the hero you play now.
- Collect the materials and the gold.
- Go to the Blacksmith in Crown City, open the Chaos Machine and pick the wings from the list.
- Press CRAFT. The materials and the gold are used up on every try, even when it fails.
- On success the wings land in your bag (or the Vault when the bag is full). Wear them in the wings slot and they show on your hero.
Wings cannot be enhanced at the forge yet.
Everyone will see what you did at the forge
MU-style: the gear itself shines, not a halo around the hero. The metal pulses, a highlight sweeps across it and twinkles pop on the armour and the blade. Icons in your bag, the forge and the market glow too. Screenshots from the game: the same Warrior, the same set, different enhancement levels.

And with Excellent on top?
An Excellent item sparkles green even at +0, and the upgrade shine stacks on top. An Excellent item at +15 is about the flashiest thing you will see in the arena.
